Christoph Ronnisch
Christoph is a friend who experimented with photography for some time before he decided to try it next to his regular job. He approached me early on and entrusted me with creating a neat logo design for his photography business. This was one of my first official client designs and Chris and I are still happy with how it turned out.

The idea
Christoph wanted something with a personal touch, which brought me to the idea of creating a monogram early in the process. I experimented with a lot of ideas and decided to go with the combination of his initial letters C and R and combine them with the shape of a camera to create a clear-cut and simple logo that gives people an immediate idea what his business is about.
Colors & Type
In the brief questionnaire, Christoph wrote, that he wants a color combination with a professional, but luxurious feel. It was a pretty quick process to come up with the colors, he liked: Black and white with a gold-tone as the accent color.
Once that box was ticked off, I looked for the right typeface to pair the symbol with. I landed on TT Hoves. A wonderful san-serif font with a neutral, but visible character. I liked the shape of the R and G, thinking they really fit the look of the design. The R of the typeface also resembles the R of the Monogram as the angled leg of the letter is both starting from almost the same point, so the anatomy of the letter is similar, helping to fuse the design together.
